Rustic Farmhouse Nursery Makeover

Rustic Farmhouse Nursery Makeover

The previous owners of our home had two little ones. A boy and a girl. Their little girl had a room fit for a princess.

Before

She also had the most impressive bow collection! The colors in this room weren’t quite my style, and the chair rail didn’t vibe with the look I was going for. So sorry lavender princess pad, it’s off you go!

Before

We tore down that chair rail (and with it some chunks of dry wall). We sanded and mudded and sanded and then painted the nursery walls the same color as the rest of the house: Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter.

Did I mention I was 30ish weeks pregnant at the time? 🤣

Fortuitously, our local Buy Buy Baby went out of business at this exact same time! We were able to pick up an entire nursery set for less than we would have spent on a crib. I LOVE bargains!

I found a rug I loved at Home Goods. And then it was off to Hobby Lobby.

I think this room had one of the most dramatic transformations! It’s such a calming space and I love to read with my son and rock him in this room.

My favorite pieces are the baby animal art work hanging above his rocking chair. A friend and local artist Meggie Pie Designs made them for me. I also love the lamp, which was a Hobby Lobby find! What’s your favorite part of this redesign??
